The Subclass 887 Skilled Regional visa is a permanent residency visa for people who have held certain provisional visas, including Subclass 489 Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa, and have lived for at least 2 years and worked for at least 1 year in a specified regional area of Australia.
Who can apply for 887 visa and what are the requirements?
- You must hold an eligible visa (Subclass 489, 495, 475 or 487 or a Bridging Visa A or Bridging Visa B, after having made a valid application for a Subclass 489,495 or 487)
- There is no age limit for this visa
- Have complied with conditions of your eligible visa
- Meet the residence requirement:
- If nominated by a state or territory government you must:
- be an eligible visa holder for at least 2 years and
- have lived for at least 2 years in a regional or low-population growth metropolitan area
- If sponsored by a family member you must:
- be an eligible visa holder for at least 2 years and
- have lived for at least 2 years in a designated area of Australia
- If nominated by a state or territory government you must:
- Meet the work requirement (lived and worked full time [at least 35 hours a week] for at least 12 months as the holder of an eligible skilled visa)
- Meet health and character requirements
